EMILIO ÁLVAREZ ABOUCHARD

Emilio Álvarez Abouchard (Morelia, Michoacán, 1989) founded his architecture studio in 2017 and has received the Icons of Design 2024 award from Architectural Digest magazine for the Poltrona AAA; the Silver Medal in the Health category of the 3rd Biennial of Young Architects of the Mexican Republic for the Central Avenue Building; and the Architectural Design Award from the College of Architects of Michoacán (CAMICH) in 2022.
Architect from ITESM Monterrey campus, he participated in the Cátedra Blanca CEMEX XXI at Tec de Monterrey under the direction of architect Agustín Landa Vértiz, and also attended the Cátedra Blanca CEMEX led by Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. He began his professional career at the office of Gilberto L. Rodríguez (GLR Arquitectos) in Monterrey, Mexico, and later worked with architects Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta (bgp arquitectura) and Manuel Cervantes Céspedes in Mexico City.
The work of Emilio Alvarez Abouchard Arquitectura has been published both in Mexico and internationally, and he collaborates with various publications, writing articles related to culture and architecture.
In 2020, he launched an interview program on Instagram called #MiCasaestuCasa, where he has interviewed over 70 guests, including architects, writers, chefs, artists, and journalists with fascinating stories to share.
