Care and Cleaning Guide – Toro Manifesto

WOOD

High-gloss lacquer

  • - Dust with a soft microfiber cloth.
  • - For smudges, use distilled water with mild soap. Dry immediately.
  • - For persistent stains, use ammonia-free lacquer furniture cleaner.
  • - Avoid abrasive sponges, bleach, excessive moisture, and direct sunlight.

Burned wood (charred finish)

  • - Clean with a dry cloth or soft brush.
  • - If needed, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap.
  • - Dry thoroughly. Do not scrub or soak. Avoid intense heat.

Polyurethane-varnished wood (solid or veneered)

  • - Dust with a dry cloth or duster.
  • - Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Dry well.
  • - Avoid harsh products, hot or wet objects directly on wood.

Oiled wood (Rubio Monocoat or others)

  • - Clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth.

METALS

Aluminum

Stainless steel

  • - Dry thoroughly. For limescale marks, use diluted vinegar.
  • - Avoid bleach, metal scrubbers, or prolonged water contact.

Carbon steel

  • - Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • - Dry immediately. Apply wax or oil to protect.
  • - Avoid moisture, strong chemicals, or polishing decorative patinas.

STONE

Marble and granite

  • - Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
  • - Dry thoroughly. Act quickly on spills.
  • - Avoid acids, scouring pads, and hot objects.

Cantera (volcanic stone)

  • - Dust with a soft brush and wipe with a barely damp cloth.
  • - Dry well. Avoid excess water or rough scrubbing.

Pewter

GLASS & MIRRORS

Flat and blown glass

  • - Clean with water and mild soap or homemade mix of alcohol and vinegar.
  • - Do not apply liquid directly. Dry well to avoid streaks.

Mirrors

  • - Use microfiber cloth with water and vinegar or alcohol.
  • - Spray solution on cloth, not directly on the mirror.

CLAY & CERAMIC

  • - Dust with dry cloth or soft brush.
  • - For glazed ceramics, use damp cloth with mild soap.
  • - Do not soak porous pieces. Avoid strong chemicals.

TEXTILES

Wool rugs and handwoven carpets

  • - Vacuum with nozzle attachment (no rotating brush).
  • - For stains, apply white vinegar and water, blot with clean cloth.
  • - Air out every 2–3 months. Professionally clean every 12–18 months.
